Like that of Windows 7; Windows 8 is without telnet installed by default. To enable this feature follow these steps below:
- Move over to the Charms Bar on the right and select Settings
- Select Control Panel
- Select on Program then Program and Features
- Select “Turn Windows features on or off”
- In the Windows Features selection menu select telnet client from the list
- Select OK and the feature will be installed
