Fiddler + Telerik

“A man should never neglect his family for business.” – Walt Disney

There has been some exciting news in the software community of Telerik. They just acquired Fiddler! On top of that the maker of Fiddler, Eric Lawrence will join the staff of Telerik, leaving Microsoft to be a member of the team. And its obvious why Telerik would want a tool such as Fiddler under its line of tools.

In a quote from a recent post “Our strategy has always been to acquire when it makes sense and to use the new technology to improve our core products for the benefit of our customers.”  It’s hard to disagree, and why would you want to. It’s always nice to see a company make a commitment to the community.

What is Fiddler?

Fiddler is a Web Debugging Proxy which logs all HTTP(S) traffic between your computer and the Internet. Fiddler allows you to inspect traffic, set breakpoints, and “fiddle” with incoming or outgoing data. Fiddler includes a powerful event-based scripting subsystem, and can be extended using any .NET language.

Fiddler is freeware and can debug traffic from virtually any application that supports a proxy, including Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, and thousands more. You can also debug traffic from popular devices like Windows Phone, iPod/iPad, and others.
