My first slice of Raspberry Pi

Today, I got my hands on Raspberry Pi. I was able to get a Debian image working on a 1GB SD card, but that wasn’t all I did. After my initial boot I installed open-ssh, mysql client and server, lighttpd, and php.  I even took this to the next level and installed WordPress. it’s not something I’d use to host from it was fun to play with. In short, I took a bite, and it was good.

What’s next? I don’t know yet, but will update you all soon as I am working on it. I am thinking of Vyatta Router that’s based on Debian Linux, who knows.

What’s a Raspberry Pi?

The Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized computer that plugs into your TV and a keyboard. It’s a capable little PC which can be used for many of the things that your desktop PC does, like spreadsheets, word-processing and games. It also plays high-definition video. We want to see it being used by kids all over the world to learn programming.
